Initial revenue gains to be followed by a negative dip
Initially, telecommunications companies saw a spike in revenue as households upgraded broadband and TV packages. In Frankfurt, the leading Internet exchange saw a 50% increase in video conferencing while other Telcos reported a similar rise in voice traffic on landlines. The CEO of AT&T, Randall Stephenson, reported a 40% lift in daily mobile volumes and a 100% increase in wi-fi calls.
